Earlier this year Los Angeles songwriter and multi-instrumentalist SASAMI (aka Sasami Ashworth) released her debut self-titled album, which includes List Picks ‘Morning Comes’ and ‘Free’ featuring none other than Devandra Banhart. Alongside ten contemplative alt-rock tracks, SASAMI also caught our eye with her humorous, tongue-in-cheek music videos, and that’s exactly a description we can apply to the latest bit of visual gold for album song ‘I Was A Window’. Created in collaboration with non-profit organisation OMG Everywhere to participate in the 2019 iteration of their free, week-long film workshop for kids in Los Angeles. In a form of serendipity, this project connected Ashworth with her past as an elementary school teacher.
